It comes with the job and as they say, the job is fooked.

I have a KoFi now! If you like the comic, leave a tip maybe? :) You can do it here or click the button at the bottom of the web page.

Ghost Copper looks like he desperately wants to say something and isn't able to :( :( :(
Question and feel free not to answer if you'd rather we all figure it out on our own- Is Chance the only one who can see him and he's ignoring him?? G.C. just looks so damn worried, like he knows something bad is in store for these guys and has no way of communicating it...
*looks into getting an AAC device for the ghost copper*

Super excited for the next page/next few pages, the jolly banter just feels like its precipitating something either very grim or absolutely hilarious.

@mitchellbravo: That's one of the downsides of being a ghost. And not really a spoiler, none of these dudes are aware of Ghost Copper. But yeah, being a ghost is kind of like being a minority in some ways (and vies versa)...

Aaah, thanks! I'm also excited about the next pages (and just the story moving forward, really, and it's January so I can be optimistic about that lol). I'll be doing the next few pages as a batch again so not sure when the next update will be but this method seems to be working so far! :D

This is great

Hey Oly-RRR,

I found you by clicking an ad on a whim (wish I could remember where I saw it; that could conceivably have been helpful feedback). I really like the world you've created here and I look forward to seeing where the story goes. I particularly enjoyed the interaction between Houston and his dad -- I don't think I've ever encountered a character with CP in a comic before and I love that's he seems to be portrayed as simply human. Thank you.

Do you have an RSS feed? I can't see a link anywhere. I read far too many comics and it's the only way I can keep up.

Thanks again,

@fergusmaximus: Thank you so much! I'm glad you enjoy the comic so far! :D

I gotta figure out how to add the RSS link to the layout somewhere but for now here it is -

@Oly-RRR: Thanks, mate. Consider it subscribed.

I really enjoy the way you do dialogue. I can just hear all the characters' voices in my head when I read it! The chemistry between everyone in the crew is very believable. I'd imagine that it'd be necessary to develop a gallows sense of humor if you were a cop, considering all the frightening things you'd have to grapple with on the regular.

There's a lot of tension building up on this page. I am wondering what happened to that ghostly cop, what he's doing there, and why he's covered in blood. Looks like he knows something that nobody else does, but he can't say anything about it.

Also, I'm laughing at the "arse" painted on the back of Rufus' (?) chair. Little details like that make me happy! There's so much stuff going on on these pages that I keep noticing new things every time I look at them.

Oly-RRR, March 14th, 2018, 5:06 pm

@Lutztoons: Thank you! It's good to know they sound real for you - sometimes I also imagine their voices in my head, sometimes I just keep tweaking lines and get lost in it. :P

And yeah, this story is partly about what this line of work does to generally well-meaning people, though it's also a story about what people do to people in a broader sense, cops or not.

Rufus doesn't hesitate sitting in the ARSE chair both because he genuinely doesn't care and as a part of an ongoing office war to claim better chairs as personal.

I try (and sometimes fail) to not go overboard with details but they are so fun to draw! I think it's something our art has in common - details and expressive characters (with questionable decisions).

@Oly-RRR: You're welcome! I not only find this story interesting from a visual and story standpoint, but from a linguistic and cultural one, as well. I'm from the States, so this is completely different from the type of cop stories I see all the time and I'm really enjoying it. What part of the UK does this take place in?

Looks like Rufus is winning the office war--any chair that has ARSE painted on it in giant letters is going to be the best one in the room. Unless there's one nearby that has a funnier naughty thing painted on it, in which case never mind.

I know, right?? I love doing little details like that because they make the space look that much more real. And that's also the thing that drew me to your work--lots of detail and lively characters who sometimes make unfortunate choices. Flawed characters rendered in massive detail! Go us! :D

Oly-RRR, March 19th, 2018, 3:50 pm

@Lutztoons: This chapter is set in Edmonton North London (amusingly it's this Edmonton the Canadian Edmonton is named after)! But I don't feel confident enough to make accents readable (you do it well but it's easy to overdo it). Besides not all characters are from there anyway (Nutter is originally from Manchester, he sounds really Northern in my head even though he's been down South for a while).

And I definitely promise more chair graffiti cameos later on. :D
